Pathway and Leopard
It’s been a while since Leopard was unleashed onto our desktops, but people have been telling me they would like certainty about how Pathway and Leopard get along. So to end any confusion:
Pathway 1.0.6 is Leopard-compatible and should work without any problems. If you still encounter any, please notify me and we’ll work it out.

I’m using (or trying to use) Pathway 1.0.7 on a G5 iMac (20 inch, 2 Ghz – the last revision before the built-in iSight model) and it crashes every time

Hooray! Right after posting the above I managed to load an article in Pathway for the first time since upgrading to Leopard

Whenever I search for an article, if the title contains some sort of foreign character (chinese characters for example), then the app crashes.
This can be reproduced on my mac (BlackBook 2.2GHz, Santa Rosa) by trying to add an article and then typing “Chinese Character” – it usually crashes before you even finish typing that.

Working on it — I hope to have a fix soon.
This crash is not related to foreign characters per se; other people have been experiencing it.
Since I can’t reproduce either of the cases, could you send me a crash log please?

When I use Pathway 1.0.6 with leaopard in french everything worked fine… but then I created a new folder and the content of all the other folder disapears
How far are you with the developme,t of the next version that would keep the data downloaded from wikipedia locally on the mac ?
Regards,
Adrien.

I would like to make a suggestion: The Page Web with the network of nodes can be very dominating and takes up alot of the screen space. It would be nice to have it brought up, by shortcuts or click an icon, whenever I like to navigate to other nodes instead of having it sitting there when I am actually spending most of my time reading the materials on Wikipedia.
Maybe you already have this in mind, in any case, good work and thanks for sharing Pathway with the rest of us!!

I am using 1.0.7 under Leopard and everything works fine except the network-node view doesn’t happen at all. I can’t add anything to it, wandering around doesn’t add to it. Nothing at all appears there at all. Am I missing something or is this a known problem?
Thanks!

I am considering trying out your software, it really does sound awsome. Except, I have one question. I read in a forum somewhere that Pathway only allows that are from wiki sites. it wouldn’t allow me to stick a page, for example, that i got from joe shmoe’s blog or from personals or something. (why not? you can gather ideas and bits of information/suggestions from everywhere). is this true??
Thanks in Advance

Jonathan: You can add pages that do not belong to a wiki. Just choose Page->Add Custom Page and enter the full URL of the page in question.

Hello.
I am traveling a lot by train and not always able to connect to a network. Is it possible to make Pathway really use the cache when I’m not connected to the internet?
The cache is supposed to be used to browse when offline (as written in the preference panel). I am using 1.0.7 on 10.5.2 and it’s unable to display the pages if not connected…
By the way you did a great job with this soft, thanks!
Regards

Pathway 1.0.7
Mac OS X 10.5.2 PowerBook 12″ M9691
Added pages show up in list view, but not in node web view. Don’t know if this is specifically associated with Mac OS X Leopard.
Thank you for the hard work !

Pathway 1.0.7
Mac OS X 10.5.2 MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
I am still having rampant instability with the program despite the 1.0.7 update. While the program no longer crashes every time I go to save, it does crash often and unexpectedly. It also will not reorder by article title (or anything else for that matter) in list view.
I have also been getting a message that my document cannot be saved because a) multiple validation errors occurred or b) an error occurred.

I’m running Leopard on a Powerbook G4, Safari 3.
The program crashes and generally does not work as said.
